Mission Statement

​St. Jude School is dedicated to educating the Native American children of Soboba Indian Reservation and its environs.  Its focus is on providing a strong foundation in Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science and Technology. Christian values within the Roman Catholic tradition is as vital to the school's mission as recognizing, preserving, and enhancing Native American culture.

St. Jude Mission School is dedicated to providing a strong elementary education
within the Roman Catholic Tradition for the
Luiseno Indian Children of Soboba Reservation. 

 

The staff of St. Jude Mission School have adapted these SCHOOLWIDE LEARNING EXPECTATIONS which reflect the characteristics and qualities most important for the St. Jude students to be successful in all they achieve:

  1. CATHOLIC ROLE MODELS who are able to​
    +  Develop a personal relationship with Jesus
    +  Consider the needs of others
    +  Show respect for God, Church, self and others
    +  Set a good example by living their faith
    + Show courage for one's beliefs

    + Work toward their maximum potential
    + Reason and apply critical thinking and scientific method
    + Demonstrate a strong foundation in all academic subjects
    + Work cooperatively and collaboratively
    + Make use of constructive criticism
    + Read for learning and enjoyment

     

  3. RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS who are able to
    + Take responsibility for their own actions
    + Be concerned for local and global issues
    + Be active in school and community activities
    + Work to build a community of peace and respect

     

  4. EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATORS who are able to
    + Think before speaking
    + Share their thoughts orally
    + Express their thoughts in writing
    + Listens attentively to others
